SPRING Herb Highlight: NETTLE (URTICA DIOICA)
The beautiful spikey chlorophyll filled leaves of the Nettle have been prized as a highly nutritive food and medicine for many decades. They have an array of constituents which have an anti-inflammatory and depurative action on the body such as flavonoids (rutin & quercetin), silicic acid, amines (histamine, choline, serotonin), vitamins and minerals (iron, calcium, Potassium, beta-carotene, chlorophyll, Vitamins A, B2, C, E, K), and all that packed into one little leaf!
Nettle has traditionally been used as a tonic for inflammatory joint and skin conditions, while also helping with liver support and allergies. Drinking Nettle tea is such a beautiful way to help manage skin conditions and get some additional nutrients into your day whilst squeezing in that much needed me time.
