HOJICHA – Roasted Matcha’s Cooler, Calmer Cousin

Let’s make one thing clear – while Hojicha (pronounced ho-jee-chatechnically comes from the same Camellia Sinensis plant as matcha, it couldn’t be more different. Thanks to a unique roasting process, this Japanese green tea powder transforms into a warm, earthy, brown-toned blend (yes, not green!) with naturally smoky,roasted, toasted vibes.

Coffee vibes without the crash

Roasting the tea leaves lowers the caffeine content significantly, making it the perfect replacement for your second (or third) cup of coffee.

Caffeine content per cup (approx):

  • Coffee: 95–120mg

  • Matcha: 70mg

  • Hojicha: 8–15mg

You still get that toasty satisfaction, but without the overstimulation. Perfect for sensitive tummies, nervous systems or nighttime sipping.

How to make it:

  • ¼ cup hot water (around 80°C)

  • ¾ cup warm or iced milk (we love oat, almond, or coconut)
